We stripped 1950’s era 1″ x 8″ out of closet, removed the ledgers around the perimeter and then went to work!! We installed 3/4″ Birch plywood with 1″ x 2″ ledgers, screwed to studs, not plaster walls. We then sanded/cleaned the new wood before sealing it with a oil-based primer/sealer from Sherwin called ProBlock oil. […]
